Swapping with Jacq

Closed another swap deal with my colleague Jacqueline. Swapping is working so much better for me than Etsy, I seem unable to draw any traffic to my Etsy shop, some day soon I must install a badge pointing to the Etsy shop here on this page.
Jacqueline got two mosaic mini-towels for her brand new kitchen in her new house and I got a pair of Fred de La Bretonniere boots which she had too many. We are two happy people.

Swap deal

My lovely colleague Emma makes gorgeous ceramic. We decided to do a swap. I'm so happy with this swapping, I'm knitting way too many kitchen-towels way beyond what I can use myself. It's a great way to get other crafty items into the house
I got these lovely bowls with green glazing:

Artswap

I did an art-swap!! :-) not my first swap, but this was my first artistic swap. Sometime ago I crocheted a tote bag in broomstick lace out of Leftovers from Industry curtain cord from Verosol. read the post here. I send this bag off on a whim with a friend and colleague who was going to visit Shannon from LittleDrawings.com in California. I thought it was nice to send her the bag, as she's always so enthousiastic about my crafting, my biggest supporter so to say.
Fortunately she was really happy to receive the bag, she responded by uploading this picture to Instagram.

she was so happy that she asked what she could ever do to thank me. Easy question, because I LOVE Shannons illustration, so I asked if perhaps one day she could make a little drawing for me.
and she did! Here it is it just arrived one week ago

It's so funny :-) because she made an illustration of a knitted sweater. From what I make up of the text it might have been knitted by bees (not sheep) that are now sleeping.
I'm now thinking about how I'm going to frame it, it came in such a nice "little drawings" packaging with cute cello-tape, I might just re-use some of that for the frame.

Swapping crochet queensday rings

Today I met with Marina from by-wire.net. She was interested in some queensday rings. She choose 1 white ring, 2 orange, and a bleu, white, red striped and a bracelet. One of the orange rings and the bracelet she's going to give away to friends. We made a swap deal; in return i get 4 days worth of using time with the laser-cutter or 3d-printer in her studio. Plus perhaps some yarn from her stash and a beer if she can find me on queens-evening. I thought this was a very generous deal. She even wrote a slip of paper to seal the deal. 

I have made another swap with my colleague Julian who's setting up the FabLab in Tilburg (to open in September), he exchanged for a lovely 3D printed ring!



















My colleague swapped for some jewellery, actually meant to be embroidered to decorate the rings. But they are way to pretty for that.
